Bhairavgad Trek-Thrilling Adventurours at the same time Most dangerous trek ever
Bhairavgad is located in Morochi , Malshej Ghat, Bhairavgad is one of the Thrilling Adventurous at the same time Most dangerous trek ever in Maharashtra. It is well defined by a rock face called a dike. The fort towers earlier used Watch Towers during the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj era at a height of 1145m and is a spectacular façade of immense beauty.
DIKE :-
This fort is one of the very few dike formations in Maharashtra. Dike formations can be magmatic or sedimentary in rock formations and Bhairavgad is one such magmatic dike. This is formed when magma flows throw the earthy cracks and then solidifies in between and over a period of few years the earthy surface is eroded and what remains is the solidified magma i.e. the dike.
Trek:
This trek is going to be your once in a lifetime experience as you will be taking the adventure to the next level. Traveling along the Malshej Ghat road, you will be noticing a sharp pinnacle of Bhairavgad which is separated from the main range.
The trek start to increase steeply ,in the start only you will feel the difficulty level of Bhairavgad trek and is rather tricky to climb a prominent and unique fort. The initial hike is through loose soil The plateau area can be reached easily with a bit of stamina for around 2 hours till you see the mesmerizing view of Sahyadri and Malshejghat region.
Break Time:-
Take awesome Photos and breath fresh air ,enjoy some time with your fellow trekkers and witness the beauty of Sahyadri but that means you cover the half portion ,now the real battle begins to start.
The stairs are broken at places and a beginner without proper gear should not attempt this. The walls have a bit of overhang gradient (*above 90 degrees) pushing you away from the narrow steps. Hence RISKY & Difficult.
One patch you have to do Rock climbing ,its hell of experience.Upper body strength, endurance and stamina gets tested while ascending and then you make your way through Rockcut steps, small areas, bad patches, bushes to TOP of Bhairavgad.
Finally reaching on top one can witness a picturesque/scenic view from where Naneghat, Teli peaks, Harischandragad, Taramati , Nalichi vat, Ratangad, Kaladgad & few other nameless beauties can be spotted. This place is windy and worth the thrill experienced during the climb.
Cactus is the only plant can survive this extreme condition and that’s only sun protection on top you had available naturally, as you can see us Resting below Cactus plant.
Enjoying the feeling of conquering, one of the toughest trek of Sahyadri region,Maharashtra.
If the climbing up part was scary, the getting down part was downright dangerous. Most of us sat down and slid down bit by bit, instead of walking down.
If you are looking for some thrill over the weekend, this is where you should be heading. But ensure that you have an experienced trekker to guide you
