Zostel-Most Affordable(cheap) hotel (Hostel) across India

What is Zostel?

Indian IIM Calcutta graduate student comes with this startup idea when he was in Germany for his internship, and on weekends set off to backpack around Europe. And due short of money, he stayed in affordable hostels—clean, comfortable, and easy on the pocket. That experience he wanted to provide in India and then the first Zostel started in Jodhpur, Rajasthan on 15 August 2013,

The goal of Zostel is to provide a safe, hygienic, centrally located and affordable accommodation wherein travelers can come together and share their stories while having a good time.

I have stayed in multiple Zostels across India like Ooty, Kodaikanal, Panchgani, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Banglore.

So as per my experience, I can say the following things:-

Safe-

1. Its super-safe, mostly it will be in a central or prime location. 

2. They take special care of solo girls/women’s safety.

3. Strictly no alcohol is allowed on-premises.

4. You will be around like-minded people, who like to travel and share there experience.

5. On busy days zostel will have a minimum of 40 people, so no need to worry about safety.

6. There is a separate dormitory of girls/women where men are not allowed.

Affordable-

1. 499 dormitory of 10

2. 599 dormitory of 6

3. 999- room of 2 people (the individual contribution will be 999) 

4. 2499 to 3499-Private rooms

Hygiene-

1. All my zostel experiences were awesome about hygiene

2. Cleanliness will of the top-notch level at Dorm, Washrooms, Common Area, Dinner/Lunch area.

The central location of Zostel:-

General all the zostel are in a prime location from where all the tourist spot are nearby or connectivity from that place to tourist location is great

Example a few:-

Ooty:-Ooty bus stand visible from Zostel, it’s just a 5-minute walk and you can see the whole Ooty from Zostel

Mumbai:-Its in Andheri location, which is one prime location of Mumbai and have connectivity of Western Railway, Mumbai Metro, Road.

Panchgani:-Its on one the scenic and beautiful spot of Maharashtra

Kodaikanal:-Its in the Hill area so feels like you are staying in the sky and touch the Fog.

Interactive Session in Evening:-

Whole day people are traveling as per there plans and to make there evening Interesting, funny, joyful, and memorable. Zostel Volunteer gathered everyone in Common Room then there be game night or some interactive session till dinner,in which you will get to know fellow buddies and they share there travel experience and you get to know a lot of new things and can make new friends across the globe.

Till now I have seen Half of the crowd as foreigners in all the Zostel, you get to know their culture and what they like about India and what they didn’t like about India.

Most of them are friendly and like to know more about Indians and their culture.

And one of the most essential thing is FREE WiFi

Why Zostel over OYO or HOTEL?

OYO -You will be in your room there won’t be much interaction with anybody, you may feel lonely.

Zostel- 

Affordable, Centrally located, Free WiFi and you will be around like-minded people.

There is no chance to feel lonely and all the other advantages I already mentioned above.

NO, not all.

All are welcome (Family, friends, couples)

(Couples:-private rooms are available for them if they didn’t want to stay in dorms)

What is it like to stay in Zostel or my review on Zostel? 

1. I feel dorm stay is not only in budget but also gives you a uniquely different experience of staying with people of vivid culture and countries.

2. Beautiful common room, a cafeteria, dormitory, and Born fires.

3. Making new and like-minded friends 

(I met and friends with Flipkart, Amazon, Microsoft guys, and founder of Startups in zostel. 50% crowd are a foreigner from across the globe so you get there country culture and can friends with them which can help you if visiting their country in future )

4. Sometimes you don’t have any proper plan to visit or not aware which place to visit when,

5. Zostel volunteers help you to plan your itinerary and you can get company from fellow zostel buddies too.
